The laser of 4KW power was developed by JDSU and Amada. It is reported that the laser will be used in cutting system for metal sheet which was developed by Amada newly. Amada intended to put this system into market in May 2011. The laser can cut materials like pure copper, brass, titanium etc which is unavailable by traditional CO2 laser. The linearity speed of cutting is 2.5~3 times faster than traditional CO2 laser during cutting stainless steel and aluminum sheet when the laser combines with driving system of Amada. Amada expresses that new system will provide the fastest linearity speed of cutting in the world.
