At the end of July, 2010, the 40MN multi-direction die forging press with pre-stressed wire wound structure was trialed favorably in China 22Mcc Group Corporation Ltd. Meanwhile, a precise valve was manufactured successfully. This press was independently developed and designed by Tsinghua University and Zhongye Jingtang Heavy Equipment Forming Institute. It possesses many patents like ??frame with orthogonal pre-stressed structure?? etc and many techniques like ??balance and guidance of vertical beam??, ??research of multi-direction die forging?? etc. It is an important project about construction of subjects 985 ?? of Ministry of Education as well as a significant science and technology project of scientific and technological department of Hebei Province in 2009-2010. Technicians solved many difficulties by forging technique with precision, high efficiency, energy-saving, and environmental protection which is unavailable by traditional press. It laid a good foundation for R & D and manufacture of 300MN multi-direction die forging.
