On August 18, 2010, the forging of main pipe for AP1000 nuclear power station was manufactured in Anshan Iron & Steel Group Corporation (AISG). The forging has the length of 6.444m and weight 54.44t.
Manufacture of the main pipe of AP1000 nuclear power station is very difficult. In June 2009, Anshan Iron & Steel Group Corporation solved a lot of technical problems and manufactured successfully the simulated forging of main pipe which meets all standards. In March 2010, the league was composed of Anshan Iron & Steel Group Corporation and some enterprises which possess ability of manufacturing products for nuclear power. The league obtained the contract of manufacturing main pipe from Sanmen Nuclear Power Plant Unit No. 2 and Shandong Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant Unit No. 2.
The ESR ingot with 70t began to be forged in Anshan Iron & Steel Group Corporation On August 9, 2010. Forging was manufactured On August 18, 2010. It would promote development of nuclear power equipment.
